February 2011
i’m happy to help! i went to bu my freshman year, so most of my haunts were in the back bay neighborhood. newbury street is a goldmine… trinity book store and cafe (which also has amazing brunch), tealuxe for the best tea, sweet cupcakes, deluca’s market, plus endless amounts of little boutiques. make sure you wander around beacon hill, which i swear is the most beautiful residential neighborhood in the world. i love the winding cobblestone streets, plus there are little cafes and quirky garden stores tucked in between the brownstones. also, cambridge is just a quick t ride across the charles and is full of great bakeries and shops.
as far as a coat goes, i don’t have any genius suggestions except for maybe nordstrom or some other department store. just make sure you get something that covers your butt… that was my biggest mistake. i hope this helps. this is all i can think of off the top of my head but boston is an amazing city!
